Donovan...I hardly knew ye

I’ve got to tell you that I’m kind of sad about Donovan McNabb leaving town. One of the bright spots (there were many…and this probably wasn’t that high on the list!) of moving to the Philadelphia area, was that there was a football team with a real quarterback. I’ve grown up as a Chicago Bears fan. Outside of a few years when Jim McMahon was actually healthy, this is a team that hasn’t had a real quarterback in years. Years. Lots of years. Cutler may be changing that, but I’m no longer there. I was filled with hope to be a fan of a Chicago prep hero who will land in the Hall of Fame someday. No luck. Eagles president Joe Banner said that “Donovan is the ultimate professional”. Of course he is…in another city. Division rivals no less. I’m hopeful though that the Eagles won’t walk through a quarterback desert. It's painful (did I mention years?) Go Kevin Kolb. Perhaps Kyle Orton is available!
