undercover boss thoughts...
I've recently started watching a show that has captured my attention. It's interesting. Compelling. There are so many life lessons presented throughout the show on leading, humility, and finding solutions. It made me thankful for the bosses in my life who have helped me. It's also made me wonder how well I serve the people around me. As I've been watching the show, I've made a few random notes about reward, communication, and transparency, and how these areas can help us in our serving efforts.
the reward piece...
> Reward loyalty
> Reward hard work
> Reward positive attitudes
the communication piece...
> Encourage, encourage, encourage
> Don’t be afraid to challenge those who function outside the established DNA
> Communicate your findings (both good and bad)
> Fix disconnected areas
the transparency piece...
> Discover the personal stories of the people you work with
> It’s OK to make mistakes (just be ready to fix them)
> Happy employees/volunteers are productive employees/volunteers
What is your personal takeaway? Is there anything your organization can better to create a better working environment?

Best "business" show since the Apprentice first started. Pure "edu"tainment. Biggest takeaway from me has been that it's always exceptional people that make exceptional companies.
I like that show too. WOW!! You realllllly pay attention when you watch a show. I guess I should put away my magazines and catalogs and maybe I'd learn something!
I've never watched the show, I like Criminal Minds!!!
