culture & forgiveness
The stage of culture is amazing. There is so much to observe, contemplate, and watch. It seems that how people handle the relationships in their lives is perpetually on display. How do people handle seeking and giving forgiveness? From Tiger Woods very public apology in recent days to John Edwards to Ted Haggard to South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford and their public apologies. To ESPN’s Tony Kornheiser and his mocking of co-worker Hannah Storm and his apology…from ski divas Lindsey Vonn & Julia Mancuso in Vancouver battling it out relationally. To a “I’m sorry for offensive comments" from John Mayer. To us…and our issues. It’s real. What will your choice be? Choose forgiveness. It frees us. Is it possible that we miss out on so much of life just because we’re standing in a dark place, dangling the keys of forgiveness but never using them? Non-forgiveness keeps us in the fight. Let go. Forgive.
